“Ditto” this article. I got a lot of shit to do, too, so in case you don’t have time to read, it’s a great response piece to the NYT article which excuses our generation’s marked laziness.

In short: NYT claims that our minds are just as plastic (changeable) at 25 than at 15. Although our generation looks like complete assholes in comparison to our folks’ and our folks rental-units’ (read: we don’t do shit), it’s not that we’re growing up slow, it’s just that they grew up fast. Our moms got wifed-up, embraced their blue or white collars, made curtains, and popped ‘em out all before 30; I’ll be lucky if I have a ring tan line or an expanding belly by 35 (just grossed myself out). Basically, the NYT is givin’ us the ole “it’s not you, it’s them” line. Bull shit.

The “Grow the Fuck Up” article isn’t a motivational piece. Like a true millennial, he writes unashamedly that although he agonizes about being “a total loser,” he isn’t going to do anything about it. You see, we’re all cerebral - “we think, therefore we do nothing”. Our lives consist of stumbling upon tiny realizations which we mostly ignore or occasionally slowly, casually, - by utter necessity - integrate into our being.

I have a lot more to say about this, but I gotta table this right now (how appropriate).
